Vermont HUTS ASSociation

Vermont Huts Association actively works to increase access to outdoor recreation in Vermont through creating a hut supported trail network throughout the state. Their hope with this network is to not only create a deeper appreciation for the natural environment but to also support rural economies in this process through collaboration with local partners and communities. 

We had the pleasure of joining the Vermont Huts team on an immersive outdoor experience as part of their F.O.R.E.S.T. program -- Fostering Outdoor Recreation, Education, Sustainability, and Teamwork. This program provides opportunities for underserved students and communities to join in on a backcountry trip with no cost to the partners involved. Through a combination of photography and video, we followed the journey of one community in their first backcountry experience.
